Sales of traditional goods, cultural and creative products and Winter Olympics souvenirs continued to grow during the Spring Festival holiday, Gao Feng, spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, said Monday.On the whole, China’s Spring Festival consumer market is running smoothly and improving quality.The total sales of hainan’s 10 off-island duty-free shops increased by more than 1.5 times year-on-year during the Spring Festival, Gao said at an online press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce on the same day.In addition, restaurant consumption gradually picked up.The integration of online and offline dining consumption has accelerated, and frugality and safety have become the mainstream of consumption.Sales of prepared dishes on some delivery platforms have more than quadrupled year-on-year.This Spring Festival, the Beijing Winter Olympics also set off a snow and ice consumption boom.Ice rinks, snow resorts and ice and snow theme parks have seen a substantial increase in passenger flow, indoor ice hockey, skating, skiing and other sports are booming, and niche activities such as ice climbing and snow rafting are gradually emerging.Data from shows that since the Spring Festival, snow and ice sport-related products have become the most popular “New Year goods”, with transaction value increasing by 135% year-on-year.”During the Spring Festival, outings, city Tours, folk customs, exhibitions and so on have become consumer hot spots.”Gaofeng said that some large e-commerce companies’ orders for travel products in the province accounted for 65% of the total, a significant increase from previous years.During the Spring Festival, the transaction volume of accommodation on some e-commerce platforms increased by about 10% year-on-year, while the order volume of single-family, whole-hospital b&B on some e-commerce platforms increased by nearly 60% year-on-year.(Reporter Wang Yuxiao, Yu Jiaxin)
